Winter Coat Donation from Ocean State Job Lot!
A mighty big Thank You goes out to Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation, whose generous donation of warm winter coats for veterans afforded us the opportunity to get winter coats for our veterans.
Ocean State Job Lot, with over 150 stores in New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, strives to truly be part of the community. Through their Ocean State Job Lot’s Charitable Foundation, they support important causes such as homeless veterans.
In 2022, the OSJL Charitable Foundation, through their annual Buy*Give*Get Program, were able to donate 50,000 coats for our veterans. The coats were distributed to veterans’ organizations throughout the Northeast, in partnership with a multi-state network of veteran support agencies, organizations, assistance programs and action groups.
Some local organizations that aided in distribution included American Legions, VFWs, Bookwell Travel and Project Freedom, to name a few.
Sue Quinn-Morris, a Stand Down member, who is also with our local American Legion, arranged for us to pick up some coats at one of the distribution points in January.
Thank you to OSJL and all involved in helping with distribution!
